In a major step to prevent doctors’ agitation, the Odisha Government has implemented the Odisha Essential Services Maintenance Act (OESMA). The directive has been issued by the Home Department to ensure uninterrupted health services across the state.

According to the notification, the OESMA order will remain in force for six months. The move aims to curb strikes and work stoppages in the healthcare sector, which could disrupt essential medical services.
