To protect public health from severe air pollution, authorities have implemented strict control measures in at least five urban centres, including Talcher, Baleshwar, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Anugul. The administration has imposed dust-control regulations and pollution curbs to reduce particulate emissions and improve air quality levels.
