ସ୍ମାର୍ଟ ମିଟରକୁ ସବୁଠି ଗ୍ରାହକଙ୍କ ସିଧା ବିରୋଧ ପରେ ଚେଇଁଲେ ସରକାର। ୨ କିଲୋୱାଟ୍ ଯାଏଁ ବିଜୁଳି ବ୍ୟବହାର କରୁଥିବା ଉପଭୋକ୍ତାଙ୍କ ସ୍ମାର୍ଟ ମିଟର ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ ବହନ କରିବେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାର। ଗତକାଲି କ୍ୟାବିନେଟରେ ଏ ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତି ପରେ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ସ୍ମାର୍ଟ ମିଟର ଲଗାଇ ସାରିଥିବା ଉପଭୋକ୍ତା ଏବଂ ଉପଭୋକ୍ତା ମହଂସଘ ଏହାକୁ ବିରୋଧ କରିଛି।

The Odisha government has decided to stop levying charges for smart meters after direct opposition from consumers. For households using up to 2 kilowatts of electricity, the state will now bear the cost of the smart meter installation.
