Today in the Odisha Legislative Assembly in Bhubaneswar, normal proceedings could not take place as opposition members created an uproar from the start of Question Hour, preventing lawmakers from starting their business.

Members of opposition parties rushed into the well of the House holding placards and shouting slogans, particularly raising the farmers’ issue and paddy procurement concerns, disrupting the session.

The protest forced the Speaker to repeatedly adjourn proceedings, as legislators expressed their anger over alleged mismanagement of paddy procurement and farmers’ distress.
