In the recent days, villages including Putupada, Bhanpur, and Salebarat under the Bangomunda Range in Balangir district have been experiencing a surge in monkey attacks. These incidents have left several residents, including schoolchildren and elderly individuals, injured. A student from Putupada village was seriously injured in an attack and is currently undergoing treatment at Balangir Hospital.

In response to the escalating situation, a team from the Forest Department, led by the Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) of Balangir, along with the Bangomunda Range staff and the Rapid Response Team (RRT), has been mobilized. Their primary objective is to locate and capture the aggressive monkeys causing widespread fear among the local population.

The local community has expressed deep concern over the frequent attacks, urging the authorities to take swift action to ensure their safety.
