Police have arrested his girlfriend, Rashmita Swain, on charges of kidnapping. In the 2019 abduction case of Balram Sahani, Chandaka police have taken Rashmita Swain on remand to uncover the truth behind the seven-year-old mystery. Investigation is currently underway.
