A massive fire broke out at Garapada village under Nimapada in Puri district, destroying straw stacks spread over nearly seven acres of farmland. The incident caused heavy losses to local farmer Akrura Jena.

According to information, the fire reportedly started after an 11 KV electricity line passing through the fields snapped, triggering the blaze. Within a short time, the straw stacks were completely gutted and reduced to ashes.

The Pipili Fire Services rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. However, by the time firefighters reached the area, most of the straw had already been destroyed in the fire.
