Makar Festival Begins at Baba Hattakeswar Shrine in Atri

ଖୋର୍ଦ୍ଧାର ବାଘମାରୀ ଅଟ୍ରିର ବାବା ହଟକଶ୍ବେରଙ୍କ ପୀଠରେ ପବିତ୍ର ମକର ମହୋତ୍ସବ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଛି। ଆଜିଠାରୁ ଏହି ମକର ମେଳା ୧୮ ତାରିଖ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଚାଲିବ। ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି ଅବସରରେ ନିସନ୍ତାନ ନାରୀ ମାନେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ହଟ୍ଟକେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପୀଠରେ ମାନସିକ ରଖି ମାନସିକ କୁଣ୍ଡରେ ଗୁଆ ଖୋଜିଥାନ୍ତି। ଗୁଆ ପାଇଥିବା ମହିଳାଙ୍କ ଛୁଆ ଜନ୍ମ ହୋଇଥିବା ବିଶ୍ବାସ ରହିଛି।

The sacred Makar festival has begun at the Baba Hattakeswar shrine in Atri under Baghmari area of Khordha district. The Makar fair will continue from today till January 18. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, childless women offer prayers at the shrine of Lord Hattakeswar and search for betel nuts in the Manasika Kunda. It is believed that women who find the betel nut are blessed with childbirth.
