Tension prevailed near Panposh Government College in Rourkela after two armed youths openly threatened a college girl in broad daylight. The duo allegedly displayed a gun and sharp weapons while intimidating her.

Eyewitnesses said that local residents quickly intervened, overpowered both men, and snatched their weapon. The angry crowd then thrashed the miscreants before handing one of them over to the Raghunathpalli Police. However, the other managed to escape from the scene.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals and raised serious questions about public safety near educational institutions. Police have started investigating the case and are on the lookout for the absconding youth.
