In a festive gesture ahead of Diwali, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a 3% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. This hike raises the DA from 55% to 58%, effective retroactively from July 1, 2025. The enhanced DA will be disbursed in cash along with the October salary. Additionally, the Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners has been increased by 3%, ensuring that retired government employees receive similar benefits. The revised DR will be reflected in their October pension. This move is expected to benefit approximately 8.5 lakh government employees and pensioners across Odisha.
