On 16 February 2026, near Jenapur Police Station’s Kantapada chowk in Jajpur district, Odisha, India, police arrested Hadi Bandhu Behera in connection with a reported robbery case that was later found to be staged. The complainant had alleged that two youths on a motorcycle assaulted him by throwing chilly powder into his eyes, and fled with ₹2,65,000 in cash and ₹25,000 on Mobile Pay/Phone Pe while he was returning to deposit the money at a bank.
