In a remarkable display of determination, differently-abled student Lakshmi appeared for her Odisha Matric (HSC) examination today by writing with her feet, as her hands are immobile. Authorities provided her with an extra 50 minutes to complete the paper. Lakshmi travelled 10 km from home with her father to Satiguda High School (her exam centre), where she wrote the 100-mark first-day paper (Odia/Sahitya) without any pressure. After finishing, she confidently said the exam went well, estimating she could score around 70 marks. The centre invigilator praised her calm and focused approach. This story of grit comes amid the ongoing Matric exams, highlighting inclusive support for students with disabilities under BSE Odisha guidelines.
