The crisis at IndiGo Airlines shows no signs of easing even after six days, with more than 500 flights cancelled across the country on Saturday, adding to passengers’ hardships. Normal air operations remain disrupted, with no clear timeline for restoration.

Following the Prime Minister’s Office taking note of the situation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo’s CEO over the cancellations and operational issues.

To reduce passenger inconvenience, Indian Railways has stepped in by operating 89 special trains and adding 124 additional coaches to more than 45 regular trains. Six special trains have also been planned from various railway stations in Odisha.
