To understand the problems of local people, senior IAS officers in Odisha travelled in unconventional ways to reach remote areas. Kandhamal District Collector Ved Bhushan, IAS, went by motorbike into rugged and far-flung villages to listen to residents’ hardships and difficulties. Meanwhile, Atgarh Sub-Collector Prahallad Narayan Sharma, IAS, cycled several kilometres to reach Barmwa-Narsinghpur area to meet farmers and learn firsthand about issues they face with farming and livelihoods.
