Husband Accused of Burning Wife to Death Over Dowry Demand in Balasore’s Basta

In a shocking case of alleged dowry-related violence, a woman was reportedly burnt to death by her husband in Baunshamukha village under Basta police limits in Balasore district. The accused, identified as Kamalakant Nayak, is alleged to have poured kerosene on his wife Manuni Nayak and set her on fire over a dowry dispute.

The incident reportedly took place on December 13, after which Manuni was critically injured and shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
