A half-burnt body of a 60-year-old woman was recovered from inside a house near Uma Talkies in Hatpada Pada area of Bargarh. The deceased has been identified as Draupadi Mahapatra. The shocking incident has raised suspicion of murder followed by an attempt to burn the body.

After receiving information, Bargarh Town Police reached the spot and began an investigation. Questions are being raised over how the woman caught fire while she was reportedly asleep at night.

The incident has triggered concern in the locality, with police probing all possible angles to ascertain the exact cause of death and circumstances leading to the incident.
