Fresh Controversy in Jatra World as FIR Filed Over Star Artists’ Absence at Khandagiri Kumbh Mela

The controversy surrounding Jatra performances in Odisha refuses to die down. A fresh complaint has been filed against Jatra owners and artists by the Harekrushna Mahatab Cultural Council of Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar. The dispute arose after two star actors of Tulasi Gananatya failed to perform at the Khandagiri Kumbh Mela, despite prior agreements. Instead, lesser-known artists were made to perform, triggering allegations of breach of contract and cheating. In a counter move, Tulasi Gananatya owner Ananta Narayan Dhal alias Nandu Babu has also lodged a complaint against lead actor Sai and actress Payal, further intensifying the row in Odisha’s Jatra circuit.
