The internal conflict within the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is intensifying with each passing day. A meeting of senior and youth leaders was held yesterday at a farmhouse in Telengapentha area of Cuttack, amid growing discontent within the party.

Soon after, a controversy erupted over the announcement of office-bearers of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) in Cuttack. Reacting strongly, newly appointed BCJD Vice-President Suman Behera alleged that injustice has been done to student and youth leaders.

Suman Behera claimed that leaders associated with Debashish and Debi have been deliberately excluded from the list, further fuelling resentment and unrest within the party ranks.
