Elephant Critical After Ingesting Bomb, Shifted to Kapilash Treatment Centre

କପିଳାସ ହାତୀ ଚିକିତ୍ସା କେନ୍ଦ୍ରକୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତରିତ ହେଲା ବୋମା ଖାଇ ଗୁରୁତର ହୋଇପଡ଼ିଥିବା ହାତୀ। ରେସ୍କ୍ୟୁ ପାଇଁ ସ୍ବତନ୍ତ୍ର ଭାବେ ଡିଜାଇନ୍ ହୋଇଥିବା ଐରାବତରେ ହାତୀଟିକୁ ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ କପିଳାସ ଜୁ’ କୁ ନିଆଯାଇଛି। ଏବେ ହାତୀଟିର ଅବସ୍ଥା ସଂକଟାପନ୍ନ ରହିଥିବା ସୂଚନା ମିଳିଛି। ସେ ଛିଡ଼ା ହୋଇପାରୁନଥିବାରୁ କ୍ରେନ୍ ସହାୟତାରେ ଗାଡ଼ି ଉପରକୁ ଉଠାଇ କରାଯାଇଛି ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତର । ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ରାପିଡ୍ ରେସପନ୍ସ ଓ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ଟିମ୍ ମଧ୍ୟ ରହିଛନ୍ତି। ଅନୁଗୁଳ ବନଖଣ୍ଡ ବନ୍ତଳା ବନାଞ୍ଚଳ ପଥରଗଡ଼ ସାହି ନିକଟରେ ଅସୁସ୍ଥ ହାତୀକୁ ଠାବ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ବୋମା ଖାଇ ହାତୀଟି ଗୁରୁତର ହୋଇଥିବା ନେଇ ଡାକ୍ତର ପ୍ରଦୀପ୍ତ କୁମାର ସିଂହ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି।

An elephant that became critically ill after ingesting an explosive has been shifted to the Kapilash Elephant Treatment Centre at Kapilash Zoo in Dhenkanal district. The rescue was carried out using Airavat, a specially designed vehicle meant for elephant emergencies.

According to officials, the elephant was unable to stand and had to be lifted onto the vehicle with the help of a crane. A Rapid Response Team and a veterinary team accompanied the animal during the transfer. The elephant’s condition is reported to be critical.

The injured elephant was first traced near Pathargada Sahi under the Bantala forest range of Angul forest division. Veterinarian Dr Pradeepta Kumar Singh confirmed that the elephant’s serious condition was caused due to ingestion of a bomb. The incident has once again raised concerns over wildlife safety and the use of explosives in forest areas.
