A devotee adorned with a Rudraksha mala around his neck and chanting Shivnam (Lord Shiva’s name) entered the Puri Sri Mandir to receive darshan of the divine. He highlighted the greatness of both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, emphasising faith and devotion as central to spiritual life. The Rudraksha and Tulasi mala he wore are both revered in Hindu practice for their spiritual significance.

The devotee explained that chanting mantras while wearing a Rudraksha mala — traditionally associated with Lord Shiva — and a Tulasi mala — often linked with devotion to Lord Vishnu — helps deepen faith, bring inner peace and foster spiritual focus. Many practitioners believe these malas aid in meditation, emotional balance and connection with the divine energies of Shiva and Vishnu.
