A severe cyclonic storm is intensifying off the Andhra Pradesh coast and is expected to cross near Gopalpur, Odisha, today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Warning for Ganjam district, including Gopalpur, indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 55–75 km/h. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel during this period.

The storm's impact has already been felt in southern Odisha, with intense rainfall observed since yesterday. The IMD has cautioned of potential flooding and damage to infrastructure in coastal and low-lying areas. Authorities are on high alert, and emergency response teams are on standby to assist in affected regions.
