The Bhubaneswar court has restrained popular Jatra actor Piyush Tripathy from performing on stage till the next hearing in a contract violation case. The restriction was imposed following a dispute over an alleged breach of agreement with Surya Mandir Jatra party.

Piyush Tripathy had performed on stage on the 5th in the Singhbahini Jatra production Tu Mo Bajrangi. The Surya Mandir management challenged this performance in court, stating that Tripathy’s contract with Surya Mandir was valid till June 2026, and he attempted to perform with Singhbahini before the contract period ended.
