A violent attack complaint lodged by Gobind Chandra Malkik, a resident of Baripada Kajipokhari, is causing tension at Gramanchal Police Station in Bhadrak district, Odisha after the police allegedly failed to register the FIR even weeks after the incident. Gobind says he was beaten by more than 20 youths on December 7, 2025, in Baripada Market when he intervened as they used vulgar language in public and resisted his objection. He was injured and treated at Bhadrak Medical before filing the complaint on December 8.

According to Gobind, even after 20 days of repeatedly visiting the police station, the complaint was not registered. Police reportedly tried to force a settlement by seating him with the accused before the ASI and Station House Officer (SHO) on the 2nd, showing various documents and asking for resolution without formal registration. Gobind refused to agree to a compromise because the official complaint dated December 8 has not been formally entered in the police record.

Today, an aggrieved Gobind met the Superintendent of Police (SP), seeking justice for his entire family and expressing anger over police inaction at Gramanchal, claiming the police are acting disorderly and forcing settlements instead of following due process.
