ମକର ବୁଡ଼ ପକାଇଲେ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ମୋହନ ଚରଣ ମାଝୀ। ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି ଅବସରରେ କେନ୍ଦୁଝର ରାଜନଗର ନିକଟ ବୈତରଣୀର ଶୈବ୍ୟା କାବେରୀ ଘାଟରେ ପତ୍ନୀଙ୍କ ସହ ବୁଡ଼ ପକାଇଲେ ସିଏମ୍। କେନ୍ଦୁଝର ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ଗଣପର୍ବ ହେଉଛି ମକର ପର୍ବ। ମୁଖ୍ୟତଃ ଆଦିବାସୀ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ଲୋକମାନେ ଏହି ପର୍ବକୁ ୫ରୁ ୭ଦିନ ଧରି ଧୁମଧାମରେ ପାଳନ କରିଥାନ୍ତି । ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ବିଧାୟକ ଥିବା ବେଳେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପୂଣ୍ୟତୋୟା ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀରେ ମକର ବୁଡ଼ ପକାଉଥିଲେ। ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ହେବା ପରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ପରମ୍ପରା ନଭୁଲି ଗଣପର୍ବରେ ସାମିଲ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି।

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi observed the Makar Sankranti rituals by taking a holy dip (Makar Bud) in the Baitarani River near Shaibya Kaberi Ghat, close to Rajnagar in Kendujhar district. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife during the sacred ritual.

Makar Parab is a major mass festival in Kendujhar district, especially celebrated by the tribal communities, who observe the festival with great enthusiasm for five to seven days. The ritual bath in the holy Baitarani holds deep cultural and religious significance.

Even during his tenure as an MLA, Mohan Charan Majhi regularly took the Makar holy dip in the sacred Baitarani river. After becoming Chief Minister, he has continued the tradition, participating in the mass festival and staying connected with local customs and cultural practices.
