ଆଜି ପବିତ୍ର ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି ଅବସରରେ ପାଟଣା ରାଜନଗର ସ୍ଥିତ ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀର କାବେରୀ ଘାଟରେ ୭ଥର ମକର ବୁଡ଼ ପକାଇଲେ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ମୋହନ ଚରଣ ମାଝୀ । ଏଥିପାଇଁ ପାଟଣା ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀର କାବେରୀ ଘାଟ ହୋଇ ଉଠିଥିଲା ଲୋକାରଣ୍ୟ । ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କର ସୁରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟାପକ ବନ୍ଦୋବସ୍ତ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା । ୭ ଥର ମକର ସ୍ନାନ କରି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ଉବ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଜଳ ଅର୍ପଣ କରିଥିଲେ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଏଵଂ ତାଙ୍କର ସହଧର୍ମିଣୀ। ଏଥିସହ, ନଦୀକୂଳରେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ରଘୁନାଥଜୀଉଙ୍କ ଦର୍ଶନ ସହ ମକର ପିଠା ଖାଇଥିଲେ।

On the occasion of the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi performed seven ritual holy dips at Kaveri Ghat on the Baitarani River in Patana Rajnagar on Tuesday. The Chief Minister, accompanied by his wife, offered water to the Sun God after completing the sacred Makar Snan.

A large gathering of devotees assembled at the river ghat for the occasion, prompting the administration to put in place elaborate security arrangements to ensure the Chief Minister’s safety. After the ritual bath, the Chief Minister and his wife also offered prayers at the riverbank and had darshan of Lord Raghunathjiu, followed by partaking in Makar Pitha, the traditional delicacy of the festival.
