ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲି ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି। ମକରରେ ଗୁଡି ଉଡାର ପରମ୍ପରା ରହି ଆସିଛି। ଏଥିପାଇଁ କଟକର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ମାର୍କେଟର ଗୁଡି ଓ ନଟେଇ ଦୋକାନରେ ଭିଡ ଲାଗିଛି। ଭଳିକି ଭଳି ନିଜ ମନ ପସନ୍ଦର ଗୁଡି କିଣି ନେଉଛନ୍ତି କଟକବାସୀ। ସେପଟେ ଗୁଡି ଉଡା ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ହେଉଥିବା ଚାଇନିଜ ପ୍ଲାଷ୍ଟିକ ମାଂଜା ସୁତାକୁ ନେଇ ଭୟ ଓ ଆତଙ୍କରେ ସହରବାସୀ। କଟକ ଡିସିପି କହିଛନ୍ତି ଚାଇନିଜ କିମ୍ବା ମାଞ୍ଜା ସୁତାରେ ଗୁଡି ଉଡାଇଲେ କଡା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରାଯିବ। ସମସ୍ତ ଥାନା ମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏ ନେଇ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି।

With Makar Sankranti being celebrated tomorrow, kite flying remains a popular tradition in Cuttack. Markets across the city have witnessed heavy rush as residents buy kites and spools of their choice ahead of the festival.

However, fear and concern have gripped the city over the use of Chinese plastic manjha thread, which poses serious safety risks. Cuttack DCP has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found flying kites using Chinese or manjha thread.

The DCP further stated that instructions have been issued to all police stations to enforce the ban and ensure public safety during the festival. Authorities have urged citizens to celebrate Makar Sankranti responsibly and avoid hazardous kite-flying materials.
