The Central Government has imposed a hefty fine of ₹22.20 crore on private airline IndiGo for failing to comply with government guidelines. The action was taken over incidents reported in December.

According to the information, IndiGo’s non-compliance led to large-scale inconvenience for passengers. Hundreds of flights were cancelled or delayed across various airports in the country, leaving thousands of travellers stranded and distressed.

Due to repeated disruptions and failure to adhere to operational guidelines, the government imposed the penalty on the airline, holding it responsible for the widespread passenger inconvenience.
