The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) launched a major anti‑encroachment operation on all four sides of the Capital Hospital area in Bhubaneswar, clearing unauthorised homes and commercial structures that were blocking drains and roads; heavy‑duty bulldozers were used to demolish the illegal buildings that impeded public movement and the city’s drainage system, reclaiming the space for free access and improved urban infrastructure.
