Even as internal tensions continue within the Biju Janata Dal over the entry of Sujata Karthikeyan, the party marked its 29th Foundation Day. BJD Supremo and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik addressed the occasion but refrained from making any statement on succession.

Targeting the BJP government, Naveen Patnaik criticised the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He also dismissed rumours of a split within the BJD, asserting that the party has not broken and will not break in the future.

Reiterating his confidence, Naveen Patnaik said the BJD will continue to exist for the next 100 years, putting an end to speculation about internal instability.
