A severe cold wave is sweeping across Odisha, with night temperatures plunging sharply in several towns and cities. In the interior plains, Phulbani recorded around 5 °C minimum, making it one of the coldest urban locations in the state. Nearby, Rourkela saw temperatures drop to about 5.1 °C, while Jharsuguda experienced similarly low mercury readings, highlighting the harsh winter chill affecting daily life across the region.
