In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar has arrested 10 notorious cyber fraudsters, including the key accused Mayank Agarwal, a software engineer-turned-fraudster who amassed crores through sophisticated scams. Agarwal, who ran operations from Odisha, allegedly earned massive sums via cyber fraud and invested in luxury assets like a Mercedes car, a café, and a ₹60 lakh flat. Police investigations revealed he acted as a middleman for a gaming app scam, where victims were lured through fraudulent apps, and funds were siphoned using mule bank accounts created in the names of poor locals paid small amounts.
