Security forces in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, have been placed on high alert today, conducting thorough vehicle checks on all routes into the city. The vigilance comes as the state observes the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.

Authorities say the check-posts, hotel and dharamshala verifications, road patrols and surveillance teams are part of a preventive strategy to ensure peace and stability. “We have set up multiple checkpoints and asked accommodations to maintain visitor records,” said the local Superintendent of Police.
