A massive fire that broke out at a supermarket near Lingipur in Bhubaneswar continued to rage for nearly 19 hours, from 10 PM last night until around 5 PM this afternoon. Despite relentless efforts, the blaze could not be fully brought under control for hours.

More than 60 fire brigade units battled the flames continuously. Plastic goods, steel items, household appliances and other materials inside the supermarket were completely reduced to ashes.

As the fire was not entirely doused for a prolonged period, there are fears that the supermarket building has become structurally unsafe and remains in a vulnerable condition.
