An Odia youth, Adarsh Behera, from Kotakana village in Jagatsinghpur district (Odisha), who was abducted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia amid the ongoing Sudanese civil war, has been freed and is set to return to India. Behera had gone to Sudan for work in 2022 and was reportedly taken hostage in the conflict-hit Al Fashir region by the RSF — a paramilitary force at the centre of the brutal conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and RSF.
