A woman from the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar has fallen victim to a digital arrest scam, losing ₹30 lakh to cyber fraudsters. The accused allegedly contacted her over the phone, posing as an officer from Mumbai’s Colaba police station, and threatened her with an arrest warrant in her name.

Out of fear, the woman transferred all the money from her bank account to the account provided by the cyber fraudsters. Later realising that she had been cheated, she lodged a complaint at the Cyber Police Station.
