A shocking act of violence disturbed a flood-relief mission in Nagarakata, Jalpai Gudi district, West Bengal, when attackers pelted stones and shoes at BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Dr. Shankar Ghosh, causing serious injury. The attack took place while the leaders were distributing relief aid to flood-affected villagers.
