In a shocking incident on the night of October 6, 2025, senior BJP leader and advocate Pitabash Panda was fatally shot near his residence in Berhampur's Brahma Nagar area. Two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at Panda around 10 PM. Despite being rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. The police have initiated a thorough investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
