In Galimera village of Guluba Panchayat under Mohana block in Gajapati district, Odisha, Sarpanch Regina Pradhan has taken an innovative step to make unemployed young women and local women self‑employed by opening a small roadside food stall (eatery) near the village road, where they prepare and sell tea, snacks and fast food each day, earning between ₹1,000 and ₹1,500; earlier villagers had to travel 10‑15 km for such food, but now with local access to refreshments and meals, the community is pleased, and the Sarpanch hopes that with administrative support and financial assistance, this effort can grow into a permanent café‑like enterprise offering better services and sustainable employment for many more women.
