India and the European Union have officially signed a landmark Free Trade Agreement in New Delhi, announced jointly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. PM Modi described the pact as "historic," marking the start of a "new chapter" in India-Europe relations. The deal is expected to boost trade, create opportunities for students and MSMEs, strengthen supply chains, and enhance employment. Covering 27 EU nations, the agreement represents about 25% of global GDP and one-third of world trade, with both leaders calling it a "win-win" for mutual growth and global stability.
