IAF Su-30 MKI Fighter Jet Goes Missing in Assam: Radar Contact Lost During Routine Sortie from Jorhat

An Indian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft lost radar contact during a routine training mission after taking off from Jorhat air base in Assam. Last contact was reported at 7:42 PM on March 5, 2026, with the aircraft reportedly missing over the Karbi Anglong district. The Guwahati Defence PRO confirmed the incident, stating the jet is "overdue" and a full Search and Rescue (SAR) operation has been launched by IAF teams to locate the aircraft and ascertain details.
