Heavy Rain Swells Hirakud Dam; 16 Gates Opened for Floodwater Release

ଉପରମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା, ହୀରାକୁଦକୁ ବଢୁଛି ଜଳପ୍ରବାହ । ଏବେ ହୀରାକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମର ୧୬ଟି ଗେଟ ଦେଇ ଚାଲିଛି ବନ୍ୟାଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ । ଡ୍ୟାମର ଜଳସ୍ତର ରହିଛି ୬୨୯.୧୫ ଫୁଟ । ଡ୍ୟାମକୁ ପ୍ରତି ସେକେଣ୍ଡରେ ୨ ଲକ୍ଷ ୫୮ ହଜାର ୫୦୨ ଘନଫୁଟ ଜଳ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ୨ ଲକ୍ଷ ୯୬ ହଜାର ୬୨୧ ଫୁଟ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି ।
Due to heavy rainfall in the Uparmunda region, the water inflow to Hirakud Dam has increased significantly. Currently, all 16 gates of the dam are open to release floodwater. The dam’s water level stands at 629.15 feet.
