Even before peak summer arrives, heat conditions have intensified in Odisha with temperatures rising sharply since early March. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, the highest temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded at 39.6°C in Jharsuguda, making it one of the hottest places in the state.

Weather officials say there will be no significant change in temperature over the next five days across Odisha. However, after that period, temperatures may increase further by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, indicating continued heat conditions in many parts of the state.
