In Remuna block of Balasore district, Odisha, the historic execution site of freedom fighter Jayee Rajaguru (hanged by the British on December 6, 1806, in a brutal manner) has become a point of bitter dispute between two villages within Chashakhand Panchayat. Locals claim the actual site lies in one area, leading to fragmented claims ("khanda bikhandita") over its location and heritage status.
