The Cuttack BJD rift has intensified after Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray launched a sharp attack on senior leader Prabhat Biswal over the party’s Rajya Sabha candidate announcement. Reacting to Prabhat’s criticism, Debashish questioned his standing and asked, “Who is Prabhat Biswal to question Naveen Babu?”

Backing BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik, Debashish termed the decision to field Dr. Datteshwar Hota as the fourth candidate a “master stroke” and said everyone would support Naveen’s decision. He alleged that despite Prabhat’s past involvement in a midnight operation and breaking the glass of Naveen’s vehicle, and even after Naveen gave his son party tickets twice, Prabhat is now opposing local candidates like Santanu Mishra and Datteshwar Hota. “Prabhat is an ungrateful person,” he said.
