BJP Leader Pitabas Panda Shot Dead in Berhampur — State in Shock

Chaos grips Odisha as BJP leader and Bar Council member Pitabas Panda was shot dead last night in Berhampur . Around 10 PM, Panda was standing near his residence in Vaikunthanagar main lane when two assailants on a bike opened fire and fled the scene. He collapsed on the spot and was immediately rushed to Berhampur MKCG Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Forensics confirmed a bullet lodged in his right chest, which was later removed after postmortem. The motive behind the attack remains unclear. Authorities have urged immediate arrest of the culprits and strict action has been demanded. In protest, the Bar Council has called for a statewide bandh tomorrow.
