କାହାଣୀ ଯେବେ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ହୁଏ… ମଞ୍ଚତଳୁ ଏମିତି ପଡ଼େ ଗାଳି ଆଉ ତାଳି । କେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରଶଂସା ମିଳେ ତ ପୁଣି କେତେବେଳେ ମଞ୍ଚ ଉପରକୁ ବୋତଲ ମାଡ଼ କରନ୍ତି ଦର୍ଶକ। ଚରିତ୍ର ଜଣେ ଦୁଃଖିନୀ ମା’ର ଆଉ ତା’ ପୁଅ ଅବୁଝା ହୋଇ ତା’ ଉପରେ ଅତ୍ୟାଚାର କରୁଛି ।
In Kiyakata village under Athmallik block of Angul district, a village drama became so lifelike that the audience couldn’t control their emotions. During Maa Gajalaxmi Puja, local youths staged a play titled “Adha Ratira Sathi” (Midnight Companion) — a story of a poor mother who raises an orphaned son, only to be beaten and abandoned by him after marriage. The performance was so realistic that spectators reacted with anger, hurling water bottles and shouting abuses at the actors, thinking it was real.
