Odisha’s BSF Warns Maoists: Surrender or Face Crackdown — Naxal-Free Goal by March 2026

The BSF has issued a stern warning to remaining Maoist (Naxal) cadres in Odisha: surrender now or face full law enforcement action. The state aims to be completely free from Naxal influence by March 2026. Those who surrender will be given cooperation and can return to mainstream life.

An IG of BSF stated that the surrender option remains open — urging rebels to give up arms and avail rehabilitation; but also reminding them that security forces are tightening their net across Left-wing Extremism (LWE) hot zones.

Odisha has intensified anti-Maoist operations in recent years, with multiple cadres neutralised or surrendered, and persistent efforts to root out extremist influence. The latest call marks a final push to end decades-long insurgency and restore peace to the affected districts.
