Team India delivered a spectacular performance in Chennai, defeating Zimbabwe by 72 runs in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Batting first after losing the toss, India set a massive 257-run target. In reply, Zimbabwe managed 184 for 6.

India played in attacking mode right from the start. Openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave a solid beginning, though Samson departed for 24 off 15 balls. Abhishek smashed 55 off 30 balls, while Ishan Kishan scored 38. Captain Suryakumar contributed 33 runs. Hardik Pandya struck a half-century with 50 runs, and Tilak Varma played a blistering knock of 44 off just 16 balls.

With this emphatic victory, India’s semifinal hopes remain alive. A win against West Indies in the next match will confirm their place in the semifinals.
