In a shocking incident, a youth was beaten to death on suspicion of being a child-lifter in the Morada police station area of Mayurbhanj district. The severely injured man succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Baramile Hospital.

Sources said the deceased was mentally unwell. Following the incident, Morada Police Station has launched an investigation. Police have appealed to the public not to panic over rumours of child-lifting and to immediately inform the authorities instead of taking the law into their own hands.
