In a major development, El Mencho, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), has been killed in an encounter with Mexican security forces. The dreaded drug mafia leader died while being airlifted to Mexico City for treatment after sustaining bullet injuries during the operation. He was listed by the United States as one of the world’s most dangerous drug traffickers.
